A wood chandelier is a ceiling light built around a solid beam of timber, rather than metal or glass arms. At Woody Workz, each wood chandelier uses a single beam of reclaimed oak. We salvage the beam from historic buildings, then fit it with downlights and hang it on black steel chains above a table.
The beam keeps its weathered surface, so every mark and colour shift stays visible. Unlike new pine fittings, reclaimed oak carries genuine age, not a stained finish. Meanwhile, we make each piece to order in our own workshop. We salvage the timber itself from historic buildings across Anatolia and the Balkans.
Prices in our wood chandelier collection start from £165. Every fitting is FSC and PEFC certified, and we plant one tree for every order placed. Because each wood chandelier is a single piece of timber, it needs no assembly once it arrives. You simply hang it and wire it in.
How Is Our Wood Chandelier Made?
Every wood chandelier starts as a single reclaimed oak beam, dismantled and cleaned by hand. We then measure the beam, drill it for wiring, and fit recessed GU10 downlights along its underside.
Next, our workshop attaches black steel chains and a ceiling plate, so the beam hangs level above your table. Each wood chandelier is made to order, dispatched in 4 to 6 weeks. Beam widths run to 60cm, with lengths from 50cm to 300cm, so you can match the fitting to your table.
Because the timber is reclaimed, no two beams are identical. Grain, knots, and old nail marks vary from piece to piece. Therefore, the chandelier above your table will always be one of a kind.
Original or Sanded: Which Finish Suits Your Space?
Original and Sanded are the two finishes available across our wood chandelier range. The Original option keeps every crack, nail hole, and tonal shift exactly as found. Sanded smooths the surface while keeping the grain and character visible.

Beam chandelier and beam pendant light are two names for the same style of fitting in our range. Both centre on a single reclaimed oak beam, fitted with downlights and hung on chains above a table.
In our collection, the difference comes down to finish rather than design. Choose the Beam Chandelier for a sanded surface. Or pick a Beam Pendant Light in Planed or Original Oak for a different texture. Either way, you get the same construction underneath.

How to Care for a Wood Chandelier
A wood chandelier needs little upkeep. Dust the beam with a soft, dry cloth every few weeks to keep the surface clear.
- Avoid household polish or wax, which can sit unevenly on a weathered surface.
- Wipe with a barely damp cloth if needed, then dry immediately.
- Replace GU10 bulbs directly from the underside, without removing the beam.
- Check the ceiling plate fixings once a year, particularly in older properties.
With basic care, the beam's surface will barely change. That is, after all, the point: the weathering already happened, decades before it reached your ceiling.
